InRoad Toys

My son loves his cars, trucks, airplanes and anything with wheels. He has many track sets, but sometimes he doesn't want to put all the track pieces together to play, so when I heard about InRoad Toys road Playtape, I was ready to try them. InRoad Toys has the solution to expensive tracks and roadways as well as storage problems, PlayTape!!!

First I have to say, these cool Playtapes are super easy to used, no scissors are required since the Playtape is made out of paper, just tear the paper and kids can create endless possibilities for vehicle play. Playtape is sticky enough to hold up to play but when is cleanup time comes off super easily and leaves no residue. PlayTape sticks to any flat surfaces, so is the fastest, best way to create roads and rails. The best thing about PlayTape is the price, you can create a whole town for a very small price. Your little ones can position and reposition really fast and easy.

PlayTape is printed to look like a road or a railroad, they come in 3 different colors and 11 different Playtapes. Playtape is recyclable, disposable, toxin- free and it's Made in the USA!
PlayTape is ideal for children ages 3+ and also fun for adults!

Use Playtape at home, at grandparents ,or even on vacation! Perfect for airport and hotels.

Mezoome

We are so happy to feature a great company that we came across a couple of weeks ago. Mezoome Designs was founded in 2008 by Israeli designer Maayan. Mezoome Designs is a super cool, modern and organic kids company. The line is designed and manufactured in Israel and distributed in the US by IMA Design Imports

Mezoome Designs offers organic swaddle blankets, organic crib sheets fabrics, organic pacifier holder, organic stroller blankets and much more. It’s all about modern perfectly playful patterns.
Not only are her modern items absolutely gorgeous, but they are also 100% organic cotton interlock fabric and Eco friendly dyes.

What makes Mezoome product eco-friendly?
  •  GOTS certified organic cotton
  • AZO free dyes, and water based inks for all prints
  • Recycled paper packaging
  • Fairly made in Israel, to European safety standards

We received the Wabbit Organic Baby Blanket. The fist thing I noticed is how extremely soft and thick it was, then I read that is made with two layers of 100% organic cotton and Eco-friendly dyes.
I’m happy to find products for modern mums in the market for something a little different. The design are minimalist, but super chic and cool. The blanket is big (40"x32") so is perfect for newborn to toddler. All their products are very durable, and they will last for a long time because, each product is made with the highest quality materials. Mezoome Designs characters are fun and innovative bright.

In each product there is a family of characters,

each with their own name and unique personality:
  • Mr. Mush is a smiley mushroom
  • Wabbit is a very happy little bunny rabbit
  • Owl-e is our wise owl
  • A-corn is a fun little acorn that pops up everywhere

 Behind Mezoome

1) Tell us a little bit about Mezoome. e.g. Materials you like to work with, trends, etc.

The company got started when my oldest daughter was born.
I love babies textile and accessories and I looked for things that will fit together with the rest of my house and not look too childish or corny.
Since I couldn't find anything I liked, I started to play with designs and patterns on my computer and magic got started...  :-) .
My vision is to create products that incorporate functionality and aesthetics with high quality materials that both children and parents can enjoy for years to come.
I love the idea of natural as opposed to industrial products.
In the past, organic fabrics used to be expensive, but now it's more affordable and can easily be used to create everyday products.
On top of all that, Organic cotton and other eco-friendly materials are softer and have a better feel to babies.

2) Who is behind Mezoome? e.g. tell us a bit about the owner and the reason why Mezzome started?

My name is Maayan and I am the designer and founder of Mezoome. My husband runs the business side of things but what I enjoy most is the design aspect as well as the product development. Seeing how a sketch on paper grows and develops into a prototype and from there into a finished product. It's like a mini- birth. I get excited every time :)

3) What has been the biggest challenge, or lesson learned, in running your own business?

The decision to design, print and manufacture our own fabric was big for us, but worth it when we got our first product shipment and the whole living room was full of bags from floor to ceiling!
4) What is the best advice you can give to someone just starting out on their own?
Get as much help as you can. Try to talk with other designers and try to learn from their experience. Keep your ego outside and get ready for an amazingly bumpy adventure :) Pay your knowledge further- try and help out other designers in your position from your experiences.

Ryder and Rhenn

One of the best things about having the blog is the opportunity to meet new people and make friends while we support each other. You probably remember our first post about Ryder & Rhenn here. I love every single item on their new collection, the cool prints, fun colors, the faux leather leggings and skirts, super soft fabrics and awesome designs, I just LOVE every print that they uses. I have to say that I totally love this collection, can you tell? Haha!

I love writing about awesome handmade shops that do so great and Ryder & Rhenn is one of my favorite, always. Nic, Adam and Ry are the cutest family ever, Nic is always so nice and its been so awesome working with her and getting to meet them ( Through Instagram). They have been one of my biggest supporters along with a handful of others that have been so nice and encouraging when I started the blog.
Nicole is a OB Tech, mother of a beautiful boy and with the help of Adam (her husband) they work really hard on Ryder & Rhenn to bring you guys the best quality and cool clothing for your little ones. Their customer service is great and they always try to interact with their followers and customers.

As a fashion designer and a mother I'm always looking for cool, unique and comfy clothing for my kids and Ryder & Rhenn made just that. You will fall in love with their awesome clothes as much as I have.

Behind Ryder & Rhenn

1. Tell us a little bit about  Ryder And Rhenn. e.g. Materials you like to work with, trends, etc.

When it comes to style or trends I feel like I'm really eclectic. I love simple, classic beautiful clothing, amazing vintage detail, and Rock n' Roll flair mixed with a little 90's alternative vibe and a touch of casual country girl style. Now that's a crazy mix! I can dress Ryder in a preppy little man outfit one day and a total skate ready look the next. I also love comfort. We look good when we are comfortable! Of course Eco- friendly and natural materials are the best. Working with quality materials is a must!

2.Who is behind Ryder And Rhenn? e.g. tell us a bit about the owner and the reason why Ryder And Rhenn started.

Hi! I'm Nicole, my super wonderful hubby is Adam and have been beyond blessed with our little guy Ryder! We are the core staff behind Ryder & Rhenn. This company was started primarily out of my desire to work from home with my little babe. I struggled so much with leaving my son to go back to my hospital job, and craved a creative outlet so this little biz slowly fell into place. I started off selling Ryder's cloths to buy my first few yards of fabric and worked my butt off figuring out this business everyday there after. I've met SO many amazing customers/friends and other uber talented shop owners, creators and bloggers (Trendy Kiddo's 😉) this has truly been such a gift in so many ways!

3. Tell us a little bit about this collection

I would say Winter 14' has been all about leather and plaid. I love how plaid has the ability to be classic, alternative, or country chic! Leather is so edgy and fun and can be beautiful and simple at the same time. I also let my inner junior high 90's alternative girl fly. The Gamer Loungers, oh and I just made a plaid tunic in my size paired with some leggings and Doc Martins. So my fave!

4.What is one of your biggest goals for next year?

Growth. Growth in clothing designing and crafting, in my business and efforts to make a difference by joining great causes, and if we are very very lucky, growth in our family too!

Camden And Kate

Hey Everyone! Today we are featuring another great shop backed by a hard working mama and wife. Camden And Kate was founded 10 months ago by Chanel Colt a full time English teacher, wife and a mama to three little ones with a passion for trends, fashion and cute handmade clothing and accessories.

Camden And Kate is a super cute Etsy shop that specializes in affordable apparel and accessories for women and children. I came across Camden And Kate on Instagram a couple weeks ago and died at all the perfect looking Kimonos they had. The Kimonos are perfect and super trendy for the little girls. The fabric selection is perfect I love how soft and well done the Kimonos are, they have a great variety of colors and styles to offer. I love the Kimono that she sent my girl! We receive so many complements all the time! If you follow them on Instagram you'll be the first to see all the new styles and promotions.

Chanel was sweet enough to offer 15% to all of our readers through this weekend with the code TRENDYKIDDO

Behind Camden And Kate

1. Tell us a little bit about Camden And Kate e.g. Materials you like to work with, trends, etc.

Camden and Kate started as a shop selling headwraps, bows, and headbands. I transitioned into the apparel world because I saw so many cute styles for women's fashion that I couldn't find anywhere for my daughter so I created and sewed items for her and then began to sell them in the shop shortly after. My favorite trend right now is the baby kimono! I love working with light jersey knits and flowy polyester blends for apparel and accessories.

2Who is behind Camden And Kate?
Camden and Kate is a small business in every definition of the term. We are really, really small. Like, I purchase fabric, create the designs, and sew every single item myself. My husband is a saint and does all of the packaging and shipping while I am at work during the day ( I am a full time English teacher). We have decided to take a leap of faith, this will be my last year teaching so I can focus solely on Camden and Kate which is EXCITING and TERRIFYING all at once.

3. How has your business changed your life?
Camden and Kate has grown so much in the 10 months since I opened shop. It has given me a creative outlet and allowed me to pursue a passion that, up until 10 months ago, I never knew I had. I am excited for the future of the shop, to see it grow, and see where it takes me and my family. With that said, I want to keep the small business feel, stay as organic as possible, and continue to work closely with my customers. One major change is that I started this shop with the hopes to stay home with my three babies. I now have the opportunity to do that and I am so grateful for my loyal customers giving me this incredible blessing to work from home next year.

4. What has been the biggest challenge, or lesson learned, in running your own business?
I have learned to stay organized, not to procrastinate, and the importance of being completely transparent with my customers. One of my favorite parts of this business is working with my customers and seeing their beautiful babies in items I made by hand. Although it can be stressful and challenging to keep up with the demand, I love every second of it.

5. What is the best advice you can give to someone just starting out on their own?
Pay close attention to the trends, try to be creative and do your own thing. Work hard, stay humble.
